Taking My Bait?

That's right. Over There, CP said Cat People was the greatest Sc-fi/Horror movie of all time. I agree. Vent below.

  1. Does Cat People come before Knowing, Suspect Zero and Rise on the required viewing list?

And is this Clockwork Orange McDowell or Star Trek: Generations McDowell?

  2. "Except that the movie is genuinely horrifying, a perverse Cajun gumbo of bayous, eros, incest, suspense, and hideous violence."

From that bit it sounds like it might appeal to someone who liked "Angel Heart" and "Wild Things" enough to re-watch them every couple years. (I do, and I'm sorry, but it won't stop.) I'll put it on my list.

  5. Okay, I couldn't resist. This is now at the top of my Netflix queue. God help me.

  6. Now, Ed, if you can't explain a half-naked Lucy Liu to the Mrs. how on earth are you going to explain an entirely naked Kinski?

  7. I don't think my wife will get that far into this movie. Once that Bowie soundtrack starts pumping against the reused original Star Trek set, I think I will be on my own.

  8. TOS? Generous. I was thinking more Beastmaster.

  9. Netflix: "08/19 We shipped Cat People"

I feel like it's Christmas Eve.

  10. Feel obligated to point out that the YouTube video is NOT the beginning of the film. It's a sort of Italian trailer. The movie is a lot more low key...

Let me know how that goes. I'm curious. I'll have more to say after you've seen it.
